Marriage…..the legally or formally recognized union of two people as partners in a personal relationship ( historically and in some jurisdictions specifically a union between a man and a woman!) So we are writing about a man and a woman. Documented or undocumented, that may be a question but it does NOT change the relationship or outcome of the marriage…..there should still be love , respect, honesty and the rest of the trimmings , even quarrels and jealousy…ups and downs! Sometimes each get to recognize in each other the qualities that will make a solid relationship before their marriage….they know the strength and weaknesses , and work on that! This is extremely important before embracing marriage. What about this? In some countries…in some customs…in some traditions…….there are arranged marriages…..( these may be documented or undocumented…not a big issue)..It may be for money or for other reasons…These people probably have never met or seen each other before, but are going on a lifetime journey….is this fair to them? They will have to spend time to know one another. ..and may not even be suitable for each other. So let’s say they spent years trying to know..adjust ,and finally Love arrives! What then?…..are they at the end of life’s journey? How much time is left? MARRIAGE is like a ship that is put out to sea and , looking ahead, there is no land in sight! You have to chart your own course to happiness!
